7 dead, dozens injured in racing event accident in Sri Lanka

The Fox Hill Super Cross 2024 racing event, held in Sri Lanka's Diyatalawa, turned tragic as a race car veered off the track, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals and leaving over 20 others hospitalized with injuries, Report informs referring to the Daily Mirror.
According to Police Media Spokesperson, DIG Nihal Thalduwa, the accident occurred when the race car lost control and collided with a group of spectators.
The injured have been admitted to the Diyatalawa Base Hospital.
According to hospital sources, the condition of some of the injured is critical.
