A video footage of the occupation of the Kalbajar district by Armenia was played in the ongoing trial at the Baku Military Court today.
Report informs that the video begins with a speech about the positioning of the Armenian armed forces.
In the footage, Monte Melkonyan repeatedly asks the Armenian soldiers, "What did we do today?", "Where are we today?", "Where were we yesterday, what did we do?"
The soldier replies that they were 20 kilometers from Kalbajar.
Monte Melkonyan, speaking in the video footage, says that they started moving from the western part of Aghdara, in the direction of Aghdaban, and have now reached Kalbajar. “By annexing Kalbajar to Armenia, all of Karabakh will be annexed to Armenia, many roads will be opened to Armenia. I hope that the Azerbaijanis will understand and accept that everything is over,” Monte Melkonyan, nicknamed Avo, says in the video footage.
In the footage, Monte Melkonyan also says in response to a question about whether the Azerbaijanis put up strong resistance, “Yes, it was a solid line. We came here by cutting off the Lachin road. Every Armenian should understand that his participation in this matter is very important. These territories will be annexed to Armenia as agreed in 1988.”
Speaking in the video footage, Monte Melkonyan mentions that about 70 Azerbaijanis were killed during the fighting.
The footage shows the bodies of the murdered Azerbaijanis.
The footage also shows Armenian troops entering Kalbajar and surrounding villages.
