Sultan Suleiman and Roksolana mosque destroyed in attack on Mariupol

A mosque named after Sultan Suleiman and Roksolana was destroyed in a heavy artillery attack by Russian forces in the Ukrainian city of Mariupol, Report informs.
Along with local residents and Azerbaijanis, 85 Turkish citizens were besieged in the area. Afag Hamidova, chairperson of the United Ukrainian Azerbaijanis Congress in Mariupol, is also under siege.
On October 15, 2007, the Mariupol Mosque and the Islamic Cultural Center of the same name were opened in Mariupol in honor of Sultan Suleiman and Roksolana with the participation of high-ranking Turkish officials. The mosque was built with the financial support of Salih Cihan, director of the Mariupol Central Market, and other members of the city's Azerbaijani community.
