Strong quake hits south of Azerbaijan

An earthquake of magnitude 5 has occurred in the south of Azerbaijan, Report informs referring to the Republican Center for Seismological Service.
“An earthquake was recorded in the Talish Mountains area,” reads the report.
The earthquake was recorded 27 km east of Lerik station in the area of the same name.
“At the epicenter, the earthquake was felt as magnitude 5, in Lerik, Lankaran, Astara, Yardimli, Masalli, Jalilabad districts- 4, in other areas - 3,” the report noted.
The tremors were recorded at 07:43 local time, the source was located at a depth of 18 km.
