Number of Azerbaijanis affected by Armenia’s mine terror over past 30 years announced

Over the past 30 years, 3,336 people (including 357 children and 38 women) were injured by mines, with 131 cases being related to cluster munitions, reads the letter of the Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the UN, Yashar Aliyev, to the Secretary General of the UN and the report on the placement of new anti-personnel mines by Armenia on the territory of Azerbaijan, said, Report informs.

According to the report, the burying of landmines by Armenia still leads to the death and suffering of civilians.

As of October 3, 2022, after the signing of the tripartite Declaration, 257 military personnel and civilians were hit by landmines, resulting in 44 deaths and 213 injuries, including nine children, one woman, and three mass media representatives.
