Man on Azerbaijan's wanted list extradited from Russia

An Azerbaijani arrested in Russia has been extradited, the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office told Report.

The request of the Prosecutor General's Office to extradite Azerbaijani citizen Royal Mustafayev was accepted by the Russian Prosecutor General's Office.

As part of the criminal case under investigation by the Shamkir District Police Department, Mustafayev was charged under Article 152.1 of the Criminal Code on suspicion of having sexual intercourse with a person under 16. On April 23, 2021, a search warrant was issued for him.

Mustafayev was identified and detained in Russia on August 24, 2021.

On February 9, 2021, Mustafayev was escorted from Russia to Azerbaijan by a special convoy of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.
