The press services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General’s Office issued a joint statement in connection with the opposition rally scheduled for November 2.

Report informs that, according to the statement, the structure calling itself the National Council appealed to the Baku City Executive Office for holding a rally on November 2. The executive branch, taking into account the ban on holding meetings in the protected areas of the subway, offered them the Garadagh training base of the Neftchi sports club in Lokbatan, however, the organizers again disseminated information about an unauthorized illegal rally.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General’s Office warn that all illegal actions of the opposition group, which takes an openly hostile stance on Azerbaijan's statehood, will be categorically prevented. The organizers of the rally are once again warned that in case of holding a meeting in a place not offered by the Baku City Executive Power, violation of public order, including non-compliance with the lawful requirements of government representatives, disruption of peaceful life, comfort of the population, normal operation of transport, institutions, departments, etc., all responsibility lies with them.

At the same time, for violation of the law, measures will be taken in accordance with the law "On Political Parties", and those who break the law will be held accountable under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
