ICRC confirms again that Lachin road open for humanitarian purposes

Since December last year, ICRC has evacuated 99 patients in need of medical intervention and delivered medicines, food and baby food to hospitals, the Public Relations Department of the Baku office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said in a statement about the operations carried out along the Lachin road, Report informs.

It was noted that the ICRC is carrying out operations as a neutral humanitarian mediator on the Lachin Road during this period:

"Such operations are always carried out in coordination with each of the relevant institutions.

"We discuss all logistical issues with them, inform them about who and what we carry by our vehicles, and agree on the implementation of the operation with them. These operations would not have been possible if the ICRC had not followed and remained loyal to this neutral position. This open and transparent dialogue with the parties allows us to help needy people."

This statement once again shows that there are no restrictions on the movement of humanitarian vehicles on the road to Lachin.
