General Prosecutor’s Office institutes 13 criminal cases over illegal mining

Non-Criminal Proceedings Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office probed into information of the Ministry of Ecology regarding irregularities in the course of mining construction sand and gravel deposits in Guba and Khachmaz districts.
According to the preliminary findings, officials of 8 companies and 5 entrepreneurs are implicated in the abuse of powers, illegal seizure of land and violation of mining leading to damage to the environment totalling 6 million manats.
In line with the facts, the prosecutors instituted 13 criminal cases. The Investigation Department will take charge of the pre-trial investigation.
