Fire in Baku dormitory, casualties reported - PHOTO - VIDEO - UPDATED

Baku. 6 March. REPORT.AZ/ Fire has erupted on the third floor of the dormitory in Baku's Narimanov district, Report's correspondent informs from the scene. The dormitory is settled by 120 IDP families. The fire brigades of the State Firefighting Service and the respective forces of the Special Risk Rescue Service at the Emergency Ministry, as well as first aid brigades were dispatched to the scene. The fire was extinguished as a result of the actions taken by the firefighters.

By the information, eight people suffered from smoke inhalation and were injured during the fire. Two of them - spouses Aliyev Surkhay (born in 1951) and Aliyeva Elza (born in 1953) from Lachin district died of smoke inhalation. One of those who suffered was sent to the Scientific Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedics, while five are placed in the Republican Center of Toxicology.

Notably, the fire erupted at an area of 15-20 square meters. By preliminary information, the fire was caused by a short circuit.
