Fire breaks out in mountainous area in Lerik

The ministry's 112 hotline received information about a fire in a mountainous area near the village of Soru in the Lerik region of Azerbaijan, Report informs, referring to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Firefighters of the State Fire Control Service, personnel of the Civil Defense Troops and Special Risk Rescue Service, one helicopter of the Aviation Detachment, as well as employees of the Forestry Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and local residents were involved in the firefighting. Measures are being taken to extinguish the fire.

According to preliminary information, dry grass, shrubs, and tree stumps are burning in the area. Additional information will be provided.
