Powerful winds that swept through Baku and the Absheron Peninsula since last evening have toppled 55 trees across the capital, while more than 15 others suffered severe branch damage.
According to Report, the Baku City Executive Authority’s Landscaping Department confirmed the figures, noting that municipal services have been operating in emergency mode due to the extreme weather.
Mobile response teams have been working across the city to eliminate the aftermath of the storm. Downed trees have been cut and removed, damaged branches trimmed, and affected areas cleared of debris.
Authorities say cleanup efforts will continue until all storm-related hazards are addressed.
