Emergency Ministry releases statement on Ganja explosion

Baku. 20 November. REPORT.AZ/ The Emergency Ministry has released a statement over the explosion that hit one of the residential buildings in Azerbaijan's Ganja.

Report informs that, according to the statement, earlier this morning the Emergency Management Center received information about an explosion that hit a four-storeyed residential building in Ganja's Kapaz district.

The rescue brigades of the State Firefighting Service, Special Risk Rescue Service, National Defense troops and Ganja Regional Center were dispatched to the scene, other respective state bodies were informed.

By preliminary information, the apartments in the first out of three blocks of the building collapsed. People are presumed to be under the debris. The search and rescue operations are currently underway. By preliminary information, the explosion was caused by gas leakage.
