Wind and hot weather make it difficult to put out the fire, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations, Lieutenant-General Etibar Mirzoyev, told Report's employee seconded to Siyazan.
"So far, there is no serious threat. In Siyazan, the smoke has covered about 30-40 hectares in the mountain range. At present, about 300 people of the ministry's manpower have been attracted to the firefighting efforts," the official said.
An amphibious aircraft and three helicopters of an aviation detachment are also involved, he said, adding that traces of fire were found in an area of about 5,000 hectares in the northern region of the country.
