Baku. 13 December. REPORT.AZ/ A number of details have emerged on the case of Report News Agency correspondent Mubariz Aslanov, who was pursued and regularly exposed to armed threats by unidentified persons during his business trip to Kiev, capital of Ukraine on 20-29 November..

Kiev Bureau of Report News Agency informs citing the police department of the Pecherski district, which was involved in solution of the criminal case, that Skoda car with a AA6164BI state license plate which pursued the Azerbaijani journalist operated illegally without registration. It was determined that the number belonged to a "GAZEL" truck, which has not been used since 2003.

The investigation revealed that those who drove "Skoda" and pursued the journalist beginning from November 20, used that fake number not regularly, but they put this plate on different days and at different times in Kiev. It was also revealed that the car also traced several other responsible Azerbaijanis using this fake number plate. It was also revealed that the car drivers had a contact with another responsible Azerbaijani in Kiev.

Another clear fact on the case is that the car that held up the journalist and threatened him with a gun has no state registration and was brought from beyond the province. The search for the car is currently underway.

The police also revealed that some forces seek to block the launch of the proceedings. At present, the legal assistance on journalist's case is being implemented by the United Diaspora of the Ukrainian Azerbaijanis, which has been operating for 5 years to provide legal assistance to Azerbaijanis.

On November 26, Mubariz Aslanov saw that unknown people in Skoda car with a AA6164BI state license plate took his photo while he was leaving a local cafe in Kiev, at Shota Rustavili 4, at 19:30 local time. There were two men and a woman in the car. he journalist felt that he was pursued in the next few days and his photo was again taken on the night of November 23, at the intersection of Bassseyn and Shota Rustavli streets by unknown person. An unknown person did not answer the questions about his identity and escaped from the scene. On November 26, at 10: 00 Mubariz Aslanov was motioned “to keep silence” and was put on a gun by an unknown man who was in Jeep while walking on the pavement at Espaladnaya street, 20. When the journalist asked “Who are you?” What do you want?”, that armed person closed the door. When Aslanov tried to approach and open the car, a tall person wearing glasses grabbed him by the arm and said: "You was told to keep silence!" Then he pushed him and fleed the scene by car. With the legal and organizational support of the Azerbaijani diaspora an appeal has already been submitted to the Kiev police department of the Pechersk district. A criminal case was filed under Article 129 (Death threat) of the Criminal Code "EO 57636". The journalist appealed to the representative of the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry's in Ukraine. Representative Shahin Gojayev is dealing closely with the situation.
