AZN39 million misappropriated funds paid back to budget in 2021

In 2021, the Main Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor-General’s Office contributed to the return of damages in the amount of more than AZN39 million out of AZN118 million, Report informs, citing Prosecutor-General Kamran Aliyev.

He said that during the investigation, the Investigation Department of the agency revealed damage in the amount of AZN87 million manats, of which AZN45 million manats were compensated: “District prosecutors’ offices revealed damage in the amount of AZN21 million, but only 9.6% of them were compensated.”
