SSS: Azerbaijani citizen joining terrorist organization eliminated

Baku. 28 August. REPORT.AZ/ The ongoing investigation in the field of the fight against terrorism at the State Security Service (SSS), has revealed the possession of firearms and explosives and the preparation for a terror act by attacking a state institution by Azerbaijani citizen Yashar Oktay Javadov, who was a religious extremist carrying out terror attacks and was involved in armed conflicts beyond the country; he also joined a terror organization and received its funds.

Report was informed by the State Security Service press service.

During the urgent operational search measures taken in the territory of Ismayilli city regarding the criminal case launched at the State Security Service, Yashar Javadov was neutralized by the operational group, as he showed armed resistance and opened fire on the security forces.

During the search, were discovered the documents regarding the financing process of a terror organization abroad, as well as other documents of high importance.

Currently, investigative and operational measures are underway.
