Azerbaijan jails opposition leader’s body guard for 13 years

The Baku Grave Crimes Court has sentenced Niyammadin Ahmadov, a bodyguard of the chairman of the People’s Front of Azerbaijan Party (PFAP), accused of financing terrorism, to 13 years in prison, Report says.
The trial was chaired by judge Siyavush Hajiyev.
N. Ahmadov was charged under Articles 214-1 (financing of terrorism), 281.2 (preparation for public appeals directed against the state), and 233-1.2.1 (illegal production, acquisition, storage, transportation, carrying, transfer or sale of items not allowed by law to civil circulation) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
