Sniffing out danger: Mine detection dogs contribute to making Azerbaijan's Jabrayil safer

A total of 208,790 square meters of land in Azerbaijan’s Jabrayil district were cleared of mines and unexploded military ammunition thanks to mine detection dogs in the first six months of 2024.
According to Report, the mine action team cleared a total of 229,205 square meters in 133 days, with 20,415 square meters cleared by manually, and 208,790 square meters with the help of mine detection dogs.
Some 127 anti-personnel mines, 200 anti-tank mines, and 23 unexploded military ammunitions were found during the mine-action efforts.
