Varank: Turkiye is in favor of cooperation with US in high tech

Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank visited Silicon Valley in southern San Francisco, the electric car manufacturer Tesla, Google headquarters and the Center for Early Cancer Diagnosis at Stanford University during his US tour, Report informs via Anadolu.

The Turkish minister is in the US to participate in the Las Vegas International Technology and Electronics Show.

In the last days of his stay in the United States, the Turkish minister visited Silicon Valley, which is considered one of the world's centers for the development of high tech and innovative developments.

As part of a visit to the Tesla plant, one of the largest manufacturing enterprises in California, the Turkish minister received information about cars, and also held a meeting with company leaders.

Next, Varank visited the headquarters of Google, one of the US technology giants, which is engaged in, among other things, online advertising, cloud computing and computer software development.

Varank later visited the Center for Early Cancer Detection at Stanford University, where he spoke with Prof. Utkan Demirci and Associate Professor Gozde Durmus, Ph.D.

In addition, at Stanford University, the Turkish minister met with the Turkish diaspora, and members of the Association of Independent Industrialists and Businessmen (MUSIAD) in the United States, and others. Varank also met with representatives of the venture capital startup ecosystem BootUp World.

Commenting on the meeting with Tesla management, Varank said that the leaders of the American company were very interested in the Turkish company Togg.

Speaking about the visit to Google, the minister said that this company is one of the five largest technology giants.

"They can guide the development of technology and the information sector in the world with the involvement of different solutions. Here we met with the AI team as well as Turkish leaders. We consulted with Turkish representatives on issues related to artificial intelligence, as well as how developers, startups, technology companies in Turkiye can use Google solutions," the minister said.
