Azerbaijan is among the countries in the region with the best indicators for stable and high-quality internet connectivity, Stephen Bye, President and CEO of Ookla, said in an interview with Report.
According to him, Azerbaijan's fiber-optic internet infrastructure provides high speeds and low latency, allowing users to enjoy more stable and higher-quality connections.
"Tests conducted show that Azerbaijan's fiber network demonstrates high performance in both data upload and download," Bye noted.
The head of Ookla emphasized that internet quality is assessed using the full buffer test method on the Speedtest platform. "The connection is fully loaded, and speed, latency, and throughput are measured under real-world conditions. We assess not only theoretical speeds, but what the user actually experiences when the network is under load. This approach more accurately reflects real performance," he said.
Bye also stressed that low latency and high speeds are particularly important for artificial intelligence applications, cloud services, and the exchange of large volumes of data in the future.
