Roscosmos State Corporation and the China National Space Administration have approved a cooperation development program for 2023-2027. It also includes an intergovernmental agreement to establish a lunar station, Report informs via Russian media.
"The governments of the Russian Federation and China has signed an agreement on cooperation in the creation of the International Scientific Lunar Station, which is a serious step towards studying the natural satellite of the Earth," the Roscosmos material says on the results of the company's activities for 2022. Notesworthy, the document itself was inked on November 25.
On the day of the signing of the Russian-Chinese program, Bloomberg reported on China's plans to build a base on the Moon with a bunker and a lander by 2028. On December 5, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced his readiness to sign an agreement on the creation of a joint lunar station with China.
