Osman Gunduz: We must attract Russian, Ukrainian IT specialists to Azerbaijan

“Due to the Russia-Ukraine war, about 1 million IT specialists are thinking about migration. We must attract them to Azerbaijan,” President of the Azerbaijan Internet Forum Osman Gunduz said at an event on financing SME science and support projects, Report informs.

“There are more than 600,000 IT specialists in Russia, 250,000 in Ukraine and 70,000 in Belarus. At present, they are looking for the right time to migrate, and according to our information, they mostly go to Armenia and Georgia. The activities of people with such knowledge and skills in Armenia may be a threat to us in the future. These IT specialists have been working with international companies for a long time. In general, up until now, the regional center for global IT companies was Russia - Moscow. What will happen now? I think we must take advantage of the emerging conditions for our national interests,” he noted.
