Microsoft suspends businesses in Russia

Microsoft suspends sales of goods and services in Russia due to events in Ukraine, Report informs, citing RIA Novosti that the company said this in a statement on Friday.

"Today we are announcing that we are suspending all new sales of our products and Microsoft services in Russia. In addition, we are closely coordinating and working with the US, EU and UK governments and are therefore suspending many aspects of our business in Russia in accordance with the decisions of these governments about sanctions," the statement reads.

The company stressed that it considers the most effective way to help Ukraine in the current situation "those specific steps that are taken in coordination with the governments" of Western countries.

"We intend to take additional measures as this situation develops," Microsoft added.
