Azerbaijan continues to successfully implement the Strategy for Information and Cyber Security for 2023-2027, Deputy Head of the Electronic Security Service Elvin Shahverdiyev said at the Youth Cybersecurity Forum in Baku, Report informs.
He noted that large-scale measures are being taken to ensure security in cooperation with government agencies, including the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.
Shahverdiyev emphasized the strategic importance of cybersecurity not only in the technological aspect, but also in the context of economic and social stability.
He noted the role of youth as future technology leaders, focusing on the need for education in the field of protection against cyber threats. In particular, ransomware caused serious damage to the global economy in 2022-2024, which is estimated at more than $30 billion, he added.
Shahverdiyev also pointed out the risks associated with the development of AI, including threats from deepfake content, which requires not only technical but also strategic solutions: "Security is becoming a matter of sustainability for the entire society, and training young people in this area is the key to the long-term sustainability of the state."
