Deputy Minister: Increase in small and medium-sized businesses in the field of ICT observed in Azerbaijan

Baku. 25 October. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijan has a unique experience in the field of creative technologies, Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Elmir Valizade said at the 6th Baku International Humanitarian Forum.

"In Azerbaijan, special attention is paid to innovative initiatives. We seek to diversify the economy. Azerbaijan stimulates startups," Valizade said.

According to him, Azerbaijan has its own space program. "We launched three satellites into space. This is an impressive result even for a developing country like Azerbaijan”, deputy minister said.

He pointed out that most of the small and medium businesses in the country today are registered electronically, 86% of the population use the Internet, including to develop and support their own business.

Deputy Minister stressed that the growth of small and medium-sized businesses in the ICT sector is fixed in Azerbaijan, technoparks are being created to serve them.
