Baku to host European e-Sports Championship

As part of “TEKNOFEST Azerbaijan”, Baku will host the European e-Sports Championship, Report informs referring to the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.

The strongest e-sports players in Europe will compete at the Rocket League stage in Baku.

The European and Azerbaijani cybersport federations are organizers of the international event. In addition, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport provides organizational and financial support to the international tournament.

The stage of the Rocket League of the European e-Sports Championship will be held in the Baku Crystal Hall. Citizens of Azerbaijan over 16 years old can take part in the National Classification Stage.

The CS:GO European Championship stage will be held from July 5 to 6 this year in Romania, the eFootball stage will take place in August in Montenegro, and the DOTA 2/Free Fire stage will take place from September 20 to 25 in Albania.

Azerbaijan hosted an international e-Sports event in 2014. More than 300 participants from 30 countries took part in the 6th e-Sports World Championship 2014, Baku.

The prize fund of the Rocket League stage, which will be held May 26-29, is $15,000.

The last date for submitting an application for participation in the competition is April 1, 2022.
