Azercosmos, UAE company ink cooperation agreement

The Space Agency (Azercosmos) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan and the Bayanat public company of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed a cooperation agreement, Report informs, citing the ministry.

According to the agreement, both parties will jointly cooperate on geographic information systems, which includes promoting potential projects and opportunities for the acquisition, processing and application of remote sensing data, geospatial data and their technical capabilities, exchange of experience and knowledge. It is also planned that Azercosmos will use the geospatial data platform belonging to the Bayanat company for 1 year. Within the framework of the cooperation, the expansion of the use of Earth observation solutions during mapping and research in the oil and gas field was also considered.

At the same time, Bayanat will hold training in Azerbaijan, especially for specialists and users of geographic data systems, on artificial intelligence, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) technology, a type of geospatial data collection, geographic data systems and remote sensing solutions.
