The Azerbaijani government is working to transform the country into a hub for the export of ICT products, Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev said at the opening ceremony of the “InMerge Innovation Summit” in Baku, Report informs.
“Along with the export hub of ICT products, measures should be taken in the direction of an “outsourcing hub”, an innovation hub and a business hub. Typically, many countries with large populations become business hubs. However, Azerbaijan, because it has small number of population and lacks direct access to the world ocean, it is more profitable to become a center of innovation. In this regard, we must also attract the international community, for which we must have a legal framework.
The innovation hub includes several key components. This is ensuring fair access to the market, the rule of law and the availability of the necessary infrastructure, including the Internet. By the end of this year, we will provide 100% coverage of the country with high-speed Internet,” he noted.
