Apple cuts iPhone production plan over 20%

Apple plans to produce about 22% fewer iPhones in the first half of 2021 than in December, Report states, referring to Nikkei.

At the end of last year, Apple said it would provide suppliers with components and parts for 96 million smartphones in the first half of 2021. This figure includes the entire iPhone 12 series, as well as the iPhone 11 and iPhone SE series.

Currently, the company plans to produce about 75 million devices. It is a relatively high figure compared to the same period last year.

Apple told suppliers that it intends to release 230 million iPhones in 2021, 11% more than last year.

At the same time, sources said that in the first half of the year, plans for the production of most iPhone 12 mini were reconsidered: "Some suppliers have even been asked to suspend production of components for the mini. Some parts and details have been directed to the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max."
