COVID-19 will not be the last pandemic humanity will face, the Un Secretary-General António Guterres wrote on Twitter, Report informs.
“As we respond to this health crisis, we need to prepare for the next one. On this International Day of Epidemic Preparedness, let’s give this issue the focus, attention and investment it deserves,” he wrote.
Last year, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution proclaiming the International Day of Epidemic Preparedness in order to highlight the importance of the prevention of, preparedness for and partnership against epidemics. December 27 is marked as the International Day of Epidemic Preparedness.
