"Sometimes people do not accept the severity of the disease because the symptoms of the coronavirus are mild. Therefore, we observe a tendency to seasonal outbreaks," Tayyar Eyvazov, an infectious disease specialist at the Ministry of Health, has said.
Report quotes him as saying most members of a family get sick because of the high infectivity of the Omicron strain.
“People think they are not infected with the coronavirus. While the Delta strain was less contagious, the situation is different with the Omicron strain. That is, family members do not fully protect themselves. If one person in a family brings the disease home and everyone gets sick, then the infection is the same."
