Number of people with diabetes increases in Azerbaijan

At present, the number of people with diabetes is about 300,000 in Azerbaijan, an endocrinologist at the Azerbaijani Health Ministry Sabina Mashadiyeva said, Report informs.

According to him, the number of diabetics has been growing in all countries for the last 20-30 years.

According to the International Diabetes Federation, now the number of people with diabetes is 537 million globally, but in 2019, this figure was 463 million. Statistics show that, unfortunately, there is an increase in the number of people with diabetes in Azerbaijan as well. For example, in 2017, there were about 243,000 diabetics registered in treatment and prevention facilities, but now this number is close to 300,000.
