The condition of Karabakh war participant Naghi Imanov, who stepped on a mine in Khojaly, Azerbaijan, is currently stable, the victim's brother, Siyavush Imanov, told Report.
According to him, Naghi Imanov, who is receiving treatment at the Barda Treatment Diagnostic Center, is expected to be discharged soon for outpatient care.
Siyavush Imanov explained how the incident occurred: "A few days ago, Naghi decided to visit the areas where our relatives were martyred. His intention was to place pictures of our father and brother on a memorial plaque as a tribute. Due to the snowy weather that day, he took a wrong path and accidentally stepped on a mine."
On February 21, Naghi Imanov, a resident of the Aghdam district born in 1963, stepped on a landmine in Ulubaba village of Khojaly district. He had his right leg amputated below the knee.
Naghi Imanov comes from the village of Sirkhavand in Aghdara. In 1991, his father and brother were brutally murdered by Armenians. A participant in the First Karabakh War, he served as a battalion commander and was later released from the reserve.
