Israel has sent the first batch of humanitarian aid in the form of medical equipment to Azerbaijan as part of medical cooperation between the two countries, Report mentions, citing the Israeli Embassy in Azerbaijan.
Deputy Chief of Mission Charge d'Affairs Doron Pe'er handed the medical equipment to Ramin Aghayev, Head of International Cooperation and Protocol Division, TABIB, and Ramin Burjaliyev, Senior Protocol Expert, International Cooperation and Protocol Division, TABIB.
"The Israeli Embassy is intensifying medical and humanitarian cooperation with the government of Azerbaijan. Today, the Embassy provided Azerbaijani hospitals with advanced medical equipment through TABIB. This assistance came in addition to emergency medical and humanitarian assistance provided in Ganja and Baku in October. In a few weeks, the embassy will send more medical equipment," he said.
He noted that 2020 was a challenging year for the health care system due to the ongoing global pandemic and the armed conflict that injured thousands and affected many people. It is natural for Israel to strengthen humanitarian cooperation with Azerbaijan as real friends act in such difficult times:
"As we prepare for the new year 2021, we look forward to expanding cooperation between our countries in all areas, including agriculture, water management, and irrigation, infrastructure, innovation, healthcare, smart urban planning, and more.
