Global COVID cases near 222M

The overall number of global COVID cases has reached 221,936,662, Report informs, citing the US-based Johns Hopkins University (JHU).
According to the JHU, the death toll from the virus has reached 4,586,188 since the onset of the pandemic.
The US, which is the world's worst-hit country in terms of both cases and deaths, has so far logged 40,280,094 cases, according to the JHU, while 650,532 people have lost their lives to Covid-19 to date.
The COVID cases in Brazil and India have exceeded 20 million.
