Epizootic monitoring of bird flu begins in Azerbaijan

A working group made up of employees of the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan (FSA) and relevant agencies will conduct epizootological monitoring on February 7-11 in order to protect the country's territory from highly pathogenic avian influenza.
Report informs that monitoring will be carried out among wild birds in the hunting grounds of Agzibir and Yashma in Shabran and Xizi districts, in wetlands, sea zones, and other territories of Absheron, Shirvan, Akgol, Gizilagac national parks in Absheron District, Salyan, Agjabadi, and Lankaran districts.
In addition, diagnostic samples will be taken from poultry in industrial poultry enterprises in Baku, Absheron, Shabran, Siyazan, Hajigabul, Salyan, Masalli, Jalilabad, and Imishli districts.
It is also planned to carry out targeted outreach work to collect and analyze epizootic data in order to comply with veterinary norms and rules by conducting a general inspection of farms throughout the country.
