Azerbaijani health agencies address public regarding COVID booster shot

Azerbaijan's Ministry of Health, the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance and the Management Union of Medical Territorial Units have called on the population regarding the booster dose, Report informs.

The joint statement of these organizations said that as a result of the active participation of the population in the vaccination campaign, the epidemiological situation in Azerbaijan has remained stable.

For this reason, taking into account the decrease in the protective immunity after the second dose or six months after recovery from COVID-19, health authorities are urging citizens to get vaccinated with a booster dose to bring the antibodies back to high levels.

Along with vaccination, the rules of the special quarantine regime must be followed. Rules such as maintaining physical distance, using masks and cleaning hands are the only way to protect against disease and return to normal life, regardless of the mutation of the virus, the health agencies said.
