Azerbaijan records 736 HIV cases in 6 months

Azerbaijan recorded 736 cases of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection over the past six months, Report informs, citing the Permanent Working Group of the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking.
Of the infected, 723 were citizens of Azerbaijan, and 13 were foreigners.
According to the Republican AIDS Center, there is a decrease in the HIV incidence among drug addicts in the country.
Among the infected Azerbaijani citizens, 33 people (5.4%) were injection drug users.
