Azerbaijan remains firmly committed to rebuilding its liberated territories, as well as promoting stability and development in the region, Azerbaijan's Permanent Representative to the UN Yashar Aliyev said at a meeting of the UN Security Council in New York, Report informs.
As the permanent representative noted, Baku stands for the opening of regional transport communications and the prosperity of the South Caucasus.
"Azerbaijan's position is based on international law," Yashar Aliyev added.
At the same time, Armenia's attempts not to fulfill the agreements make it a violator of international obligations.
"Armenia has neither moral nor legal right to make any statements," he noted.
According to him, the current escalation of the situation on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border is not the only incident, but a link in the chain of numerous Armenian provocations over the past few months, when the Armenian Armed Forces repeatedly fired at the positions of the Azerbaijani Army. The permanent representative also noted that Armenia continues to plant mines on the territory of Azerbaijan.
