Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan boost bilateral relations in all spheres

Relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are expanding across all spheres, including the religious field, where cooperation is built on mutual trust and shared historical‑cultural values.

According to Report, the matter was discussed during a meeting between Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of Azerbaijan's State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, and Muzaffar Kamilov, Head of the Department for Religious and Educational Affairs at the Uzbek Presidential Administration.

During the meeting, the sides emphasized that the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan has been developing dynamically thanks to the political will and consistent efforts of both countries' leaders.

They highlighted the importance of the First Meeting of Heads of Religious Affairs Institutions of Turkic States, held in Shusha, which was described as a milestone for expanding institutional cooperation in the religious sphere across the Turkic world. The communiqué adopted at the meeting was said to provide a framework for defining priority areas of joint activity.

Discussions also focused on experience exchange, joint projects, and deepening cooperation in religious education.

The meeting was attended by Sodik Toshboyev, Chairman of Uzbekistan's Committee on Religious Affairs, who underlined the significance of the First International Forum on Islamic Civilization.

The forum was praised for promoting the rich heritage of Islamic civilization, advancing educational traditions, and fostering intercultural dialogue.
