The main problem in implementing plans related to women is finance, UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana said in a video message during the Women's Forum of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Lachin, Report informs.
According to her, the global financing mechanism should be accessible to women: "In recent years, the UN, through UN Women, has allocated $90 million to support women to expand their access to markets. I hope that new sources of financing will be identified within the forum. We must create opportunities for women's leadership. Our second session will be held this year, and Azerbaijan is one of the main organizers."
