Ukrainian MP: We will never forget merits of Heydar Aliyev

Heydar Aliyev is a very important political figure in modern history. The establishment of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Azerbaijan became possible thanks, among other things, to his efforts, Yuriy Kamelchuk, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the ruling Servant of the People party, said in an interview with Report's Eastern European bureau.

“In 1997, when Russia started raising fuel prices and stopped deliveries to Ukraine, our country was able to replenish its reserves with the help of Azerbaijan. We will not forget this. Heydar Aliyev is the founder of modern Azerbaijan, who is an example for others,” he said.

Kamelchuk expressed gratitude to the great leader Heydar Aliyev: “We do not forget Azerbaijan’s assistance in the war with Russia, and we will always help each other. We are infinitely grateful to Heydar Aliyev for the fact that trust between our countries is at such a high level.”
