“I thank the President of Azerbaijan and the friendly people of Azerbaijan for the humanitarian aid and systematic support to Ukraine,” MP of the Verkhovna Rada Serhiy Nahornyak said at the round table titled “Ukraine-Azerbaijan: strategic partnership in the face of challenges to the global world order. The third dialogue”, Report informs.
“President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an order on the allocation of additional funds in the amount of $7.6 million to Ukraine for the purchase and shipment of electrical equipment within the framework of humanitarian aid. I want to thank the President of Azerbaijan and the friendly people of Azerbaijan for this help, and for the systematic support we felt after the large-scale war with Russia. It is important for us that Azerbaijan supports our territorial integrity. In the first days after the large-scale war, Azerbaijan sent a large batch of humanitarian aid to Ukraine, especially medicines and medical equipment, and humanitarian aid has been systematically delivered since then,” he said.
Nahornyak added that Azerbaijan also contributed to Ukraine's energy sector in a critical period for the country: “We had a very difficult winter season in 2022-2023, and Azerbaijan helped us get out of this difficult period with its aid. Now aid has been allocated to the energy sector of Ukraine as well. This is very important to us as we restore the power system and prepare for winter.”
