UK ambassador extends condolences over death of soldier in Kalbajar landmine explosion

British Ambassador to Azerbaijan Fergus Old expressed condolences in connection with the landmine explosion in Kalbajar, according to Report.

"I am saddened by the news that eight people were blown up by a mine in Kalbajar on December 14, as a result of which there are wounded and dead. I express my deep condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased. I wish a speedy recovery to the wounded," the diplomat tweeted.

It should be noted that at about 06.00 pm on December 14, the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Kalbajar district received information that eight people were blown up by a landmine explosion near the village of Chirag, Kalbajar region.

Four employees of a company engaged in repair and construction work were blown up by an anti-personnel mine near the village of Chirag, Kalbajar district. Four servicemen who were heading to the scene for evacuation also hit a landmine, three of them received injuries of varying severity, and one died.
