UK ambassador congratulates Azerbaijani journalists

UK Ambassador to Azerbaijan James Sharp has congratulated Azerbaijani journalists on July 22 - National Press Day, according to Report.

"I congratulate all my journalist friends on National Press Day. Yesterday, we had an interesting conversation about their activity and future plans," the ambassador tweeted.

Azerbaijan is celebrating the anniversary of the establishment of national press today. 147 years ago, on July 22, 1875, the first issue of the "Ekinchi" newspaper, founded by Hasan bey Zardabi, one of the prominent representatives of the enlightenment movement of his time, was published, and thus the foundations of the national press in Azerbaijan were laid.
