Turkey appoints new ambassador to Azerbaijan 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan appointed Cahit Bağcı as Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing Resmi Gazete.

Ambassador Erkan Ozoral’s term of office has expired.

Upon the order of the President, Turkey recalled 10 ambassadors, appointed new envoys to 13 countries.

Cahit Bağcı was born on June 25, 1964 in Osmancık, a district of Çorum Province. He graduated from the Sociology Department of the Middle East Technical University, defended his Ph.D. at Manchester University in England. In 1988-1993, he worked in SPO’s Social Planning Department. He was elected to the Turkish Grand National Assembly from Çorum in the 23rd, 24th, and 25th convocations. Cahit Bağcı is a member of the EU-Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee. He is married and has 3 children.
