Tajikistan's permanent rep to UN: 'We are confident that Azerbaijan will successfully host COP29'

Tajikistan will send a large delegation to Baku in November to support brotherly Azerbaijan at the COP29 Conference, Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the UN, Jonibek Hikmat, told the US bureau of Report.

He congratulated the government of Azerbaijan on chairing COP29.

"The government of Azerbaijan has taken on an exceptionally important role by leading COP29. Your country is demonstrating an inclusive approach in preparing for the conference, closely cooperating with leading UN agencies on climate issues, various organizations, and private sector representatives. We can confidently say that Azerbaijan will successfully host COP29," the diplomat noted.

Hikmat also reported that Tajikistan will be represented at COP29 with a large pavilion.

"This is an excellent opportunity for us. Given our concern about water resources and ensuring access to clean drinking water, we thank the government of Azerbaijan for the opportunity provided," the permanent representative added.
