State Department: US committed to peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia

The US is committed to peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia, US Department of State Deputy Spokesman Vedant Patel said at a regular briefing, Report informs.
He reminded that US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried had a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
As Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated earlier, direct dialogue is the key to resolving this issue and achieving a lasting peace, Patel added.
The US will continue to facilitate negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan both on a bilateral basis and with partners, as well as within multilateral organizations, he said.
