State Department: United States wants to play helpful role in direct dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan

The United States wants to play a helpful role in the direct dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the press service of the US Department of State told Report.

"In addition to other foreign assistance efforts, improving regional transportation links in the South Caucasus could enhance the prospects for regional economic growth and create conditions conducive for comprehensive peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan," the press service said.

During a telephone conversation between US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on July 25, Blinken reiterated the United States’ offer of assistance in helping facilitate the opening of regional transportation and communication linkages.
